The God of Comfort

“As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you...”
(Isaiah 66:13, NIV)

Oftentimes, when people face challenges, they seek comfort in things that are familiar. It may be work, an activity or relationships, and of course, we all know about “comfort food.” But those things only bring temporary comfort. True comfort is found in a personal relationship with God in heaven through His Son, Jesus.

Webster’s dictionary states that comfort means to give strength and hope; to ease grief or trouble. No matter what difficulty you may be facing today, God wants to bring you comfort. Like a mother cares for her child, He longs to give you strength, hope and confidence. Make the decision to put Him first in every area of your life. Let go of those things you know are holding you back. Let Him be Lord over all! As you surrender to His grace, you will be filled with His peace and joy. You’ll be empowered to overcome every obstacle, and live the abundant life He has for you!

New Creation

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”(2 Corinthians 5:17, NIV)

Everyone loves to receive something new. When you become a believer in Jesus, you not only receive something new, you become something new. You are a brand new creation! Your eternal being, the spirit on the inside of you, is recreated in Christ. The old is gone, the new is here!

That means you have to retrain your body and mind to act, think, speak and live according to the new spirit within you instead of turning to the old habits you used to have. Don’t ever get stuck in a rut thinking, “I’ll never change...that’s just the way I am.” No, the Bible says that the Spirit of God helps us in our weakness. He gives us strength to overcome. He empowers us to live as more than conquerors. If there is something you want to change in your life today, remember, you are a new creation in Christ. You are empowered to overcome!

Speaking the Blessing

“The tongue has the power of life and death...”(Proverbs 18:21, NIV)

Have you thought about how the people in your life need your blessing? They need your approval. They need to hear you say, “I’m proud of you. You’re going to do great things.” That’s speaking the blessing. When you say to the people you love, “I’m so glad you’re in my life. You mean the world to me,” you just gave them the blessing. When you tell one of your employees, coworkers or a student, “You amaze me with your ability. You have such a bright future,” those are not just nice compliments. When you speak the blessing, you’re releasing God’s wisdom, protection, favor and abundance into their hearts. You can literally help shape their destiny. One word of encouragement, one word of approval can be what helps someone step up to who God created them to be.
Today, choose to speak the blessing. Sow good seeds into the lives of the people you love. Remember, what you make happen for others, God will make happen for you. Sow blessing and reap blessing and experience His favor all the days of your life!

Say So

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has delivered from the hand of the adversary.”(Psalm 107:2, AMPC)

Image result for mt elgonNotice that today’s scripture doesn’t say, “Let the redeemed of the Lord think so.” Or, “Let the redeemed believe so.” Of course, it’s important to think right and believe right, but something supernatural happens when we open our mouths and declare a thing. You don’t even have to say it to anyone else, you can just say it to yourself—driving to work or in the shower—you can say, “The economy may be low, but I am blessed. I am prosperous. I will lend and not borrow.” “I may have had some setbacks, but I know those setbacks are a setup for a comeback! This is still going to be my best year so far. The favor of God is turning things around.” You are prophesying your future. Remember, when you say what the Lord has done for you, when you declare that you are redeemed, you are opening the door for God to move on your behalf. The scripture tells us that He watches over His Word to perform it. When you declare His Word, when you speak His promises, He is faithful to fulfill them and lead you into victory all the days of your life!

Whatever You Do Will Prosper

Speak to Your Mountains

“So Jesus answered and said to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt...if you say to this mountain, “Be removed and be cast into the sea,” it will be done.’”(Matthew 21:21, NKJV)

Image result for best flowers chrysanthemumWe’ve all had seasons when the challenges of life feel overwhelming. During those times, it’s easy to be tempted to talk about how bad things are. Maybe you received a bad medical report, or maybe you’re facing a financial obstacle. The more you talk about something, the bigger it becomes in your mind. Instead, you’ve got to dig your heels in and say, “No, I am not going to give life to that defeat. I am not going to speak sickness over myself. I’m not going to speak lack. I’m not going to speak fear. I’m choosing a different report. I believe the report of the Lord which says that I am blessed. I am favored. I am prosperous. I am healthy. I am whole. I’m a victor, not a victim.”

Remember, even if you don’t see how things could ever work out, God does. You’ve got to speak to those mountains in your life and declare favor over those situations. Instead of talking to God about how big your problems are, talk to your problems about how big your God is! As you speak to your mountains, they will be moved, and you will move forward into the victory God has prepared for you!
